Human Computer Interaction for Patient Empowerment

Interactive technologies can empower patients with information and tools to engage and manage their healthcare process. However, there is growing concern about the quality, reliability, and usability of the information and tools. HCI professionals must be involved in the design and testing of technology-based patient empowerment.

This is a proposal for a one-day workshop aimed at building a community of practice including HCI and healthcare professionals, scope and address the issues and challenges in empowering patients through interactive technology, and delineate a roadmap for future research and practice.

The workshop will take place on October, 4, 2016 at theĀ IEEE International Conference on Healthcare Informatics 2016 (ICHI 2016) (http://www.ieee-ichi.org/index.html)
